The short answer

Prices checked at Argos and Lakeland on 23 October 2026.

  • Best value with attachments: Russell Hobbs Go Create 27560 3-in-1, £30 at Argos. 700W with a beaker, whisk and chopper, and 3 years of cover if registered online: £10.00 per guaranteed year.
  • Best basic blender: Bosch MSM6B150GB, £20 at Argos. 300W with a beaker and a 2-year guarantee, also £10.00 per guaranteed year.
  • Best budget all-rounder: Bosch MSM66020GB ErgoMixx, £24.99 at Argos (sale). 600W, 12 speeds, a chopper and a 2-year guarantee: £12.49 per guaranteed year.
  • Buy once: Bamix Classic, £109.99 at Lakeland. Lakeland says Bamix now offers a lifetime guarantee on the motor of all Bamix models.
  • Running cost is tiny. A 1,000W hand blender at full power for one minute uses 0.017kWh, or 0.44p at 26.32p/kWh.

One year of cover on a £100 blender

Of the 15 Argos hand blender listings we read in full, 8 state a one-year guarantee. They are not all budget models: the Dualit DHB2 (£100), Braun MultiQuick 7 MQ7045X (£79) and Bosch ErgoMaster MSM4B624GB (£59.99) are among them.

Bands use the price shown; the £30 band includes the two £30 models.

The Bosch listing stands out. Argos states a 1-year manufacturer's guarantee for the ErgoMaster MSM4B624GB, while Bosch's own UK warranty page says "every Bosch home appliance is offered with a 2 year warranty as standard". If you buy it, ask the retailer which term applies.

How we picked and ranked these

We read every stick (immersion) hand blender on the first page of Argos's own range for "hand blender" on 23 October 2026, and two hand blenders at Lakeland for comparison. Portable bottle blenders, a hand mixer, a nutri blender and an electric masher were left out. Four Argos models showed a price but we did not read their specification pages; they appear in the limits box, not the ranking.

The ranking metric is price divided by years of guarantee as stated on the listing. Wattage is shown, but it is a maximum input figure, not a measure of blending quality.

We did not handle or use any of these blenders.

The five we would shortlist

1. Russell Hobbs Go Create 27560 3-in-1: best value with attachments

£30.00 at Argos on 23 October 2026. £10.00 per guaranteed year.

700W, two speeds plus pulse, a detachable stainless blade, a 700ml beaker, a whisk and a chopper. It is the cheapest way in our pool to get a chopper and whisk with three years of cover.

The catch: the 3 years applies when registered online; the listing does not state the term without registration.

Best for: soup and chopped onion from one gadget.

2. Bosch MSM6B150GB: best basic blender

£20.00 at Argos on 23 October 2026. £10.00 per guaranteed year.

300W, one speed, a detachable shaft and a 600ml beaker, with a 2-year guarantee that matches Bosch's UK standard term.

The catch: no chopper or whisk, and the lowest wattage of the Bosch models. Fine for soups, less suited to thick pastes.

Best for: blending soup in the pan and nothing more.

3. Bosch MSM66020GB ErgoMixx: best budget all-rounder

£24.99 at Argos on 23 October 2026 (sale price). £12.49 per guaranteed year.

600W, 12 speeds, a turbo button, a double-action blade, a 600ml beaker with lid and a chopper, with a 2-year guarantee.

The catch: £24.99 is an offer price; Argos showed a saving on the day. The mixing wand is plastic.

Best for: anyone who wants speed control and a chopper for under £25.

4. Braun MultiQuick 5 Pro MQ55755M: a hand blender that stands in for a processor

£100.00 at Argos on 23 October 2026. £50.00 per guaranteed year.

1,000W, 26 speeds, a whisk, chopper, ice-crush knife and a food processor bowl with a shredding and slicing disc, with a 2-year guarantee.

The catch: £100 buys a full-size food processor such as the Kenwood FDP65.180SI. Choose this only if you want one compact base instead of two machines.

Best for: small kitchens that cannot fit a food processor.

5. Bamix Classic 125.160: buy once

£109.99 at Lakeland on 23 October 2026. Lifetime guarantee on the motor, per Lakeland.

Bamix is a Swiss brand sold in the UK through Lakeland. The listing text we read states the lifetime motor guarantee but not the wattage or full attachment list.

The catch: the guarantee covers the motor, and "lifetime" is not defined on the listing. At £109.99 it costs more than five Bosch MSM6B150GBs.

Best for: daily users who want to stop replacing hand blenders.

Live Amazon prices

The table below pulls live prices from Amazon's own feed, which can differ from the Amazon buy box and from the retailer prices we ranked on above. Not in it: the Russell Hobbs Go Create 27560 and the Bamix Classic 125.160, which we could not match to an Amazon listing for the same model. The Bosch MSM66020GB shows no price because Amazon's feed returned none for it; follow its button for the current price.

Prices in this table come from Amazon and are refreshed at least once a day, with the date of the last update under the table. The cost-per-use and running-cost figures on this page use prices Look Into read on 23 October 2026, so they can differ from today's price.

Not worth buying at these prices

  • Dualit DHB2, £100: one year of cover on Argos, so £100 per guaranteed year.
  • Braun MultiQuick 7 MQ7045X, £79: one year of cover on Argos. The MultiQuick 5 Pro costs £21 more with two years and a processor bowl.
  • Cookworks HB951H6, £25: its listing says "100ml beaker capacity" but lists a 1.1 litre beaker in the box. The Bosch ErgoMixx is cheaper with twice the guarantee.

Is wattage worth paying for?

No machine in the pool costs more than half a penny a minute to run. A daily three-minute soup blend at 1,000W costs 1.3p, or about £4.80 a year (0.44p × 3 minutes × 365 days). What extra watts buy is the ability to push through thick or frozen ingredients, which no listing measures. Our stand mixer guide makes the same point: watts are what the motor draws, not what the blade delivers.

Questions people ask

Hand blender or food processor? A hand blender blends in the pan and is ideal for soup and sauces. For slicing and grating you need a processor or a hand blender with a disc attachment, such as the Braun MultiQuick 5 Pro.

Is a stainless steel shaft better than plastic? Steel shafts can go into hot pans more comfortably; plastic shafts are lighter. The Bosch ErgoMaster lists a steel wand, the Cookworks HB951H2 a plastic one.

Do I need to register for the longer guarantee? For Russell Hobbs and Ninja models, the listings tie the longer term to registration. Do it when you unpack.

Does the guarantee replace my legal rights? No. Your Consumer Rights Act rights are against the retailer, and Which? notes you can take a claim for faulty goods to the small claims court for up to six years in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and five in Scotland.
